6 Subtle Signs You’ve Found Your Soulmate

Falling in love is exciting, beautiful, and such a joyous time. But it’s even better when you’re falling in love with your one and only – your soulmate.

It’s no secret that you might endure a few relationships before meeting “the one.” Dating can be a whirlwind of emotions when you’re unsure of or doubting the person you’re with.

You may wish there was a crystal ball or tarot reading that would tell you, without a doubt, who your soulmate really is. Is it the person you’re currently with? Is it your best friend from childhood? Are they still out there, waiting for you to find one another?

While there is no clear-cut guide or answer, there are some subtle signs that happen when you do find your soulmate. Here are 6 signs you’ve found “the one” – your soulmate:

1. They hold you accountable.

They hold you accountable to continuous growth and self-improvement.

They don’t hold you back from your goals and desires. Rather, they push you to be the best version of yourself possible.

If there’s something you really want in life, they won’t let you give up. They gently remind you when you need a nudge, and cheer from the sidelines when you’re on a roll.

If you’re with someone who doesn’t value your goals or growth, it’s time to reevaluate if that’s the person you want to continue on with.

2. They’re proud of you.

They take pride in both your relationship and just who you are as a person.

They deeply admire who you are and what you stand for. You don’t have to wonder if they like you, they make it clear that they do. And beyond that, they’re proud of the person you’re growing into.

They’re comfortable taking you around family and friends, and their family and friends know of that pride they hold for you – because they won’t stop talking about how great you are.

While you don’t need outside affirmation to believe in yourself, if you’re with someone who takes zero pride in the relationship or in yourself, or if you’re with someone who tries to hide you from their loved ones, they’re probably not your soulmate.

3. They make you a priority.

They recognize and value how important it is to upkeep and prioritize you and your relationship.

They dedicate time to learning to better communicate with you and to work on your relationship, partnership, and friendship.

Because you’re a priority to them, they include you in decision making and consciously work to live in harmony with you.

4. They see you.

They see you as the bigger picture of who you are, and the smaller side of you. They notice the little things you do, the tiny bits of your personality that shine through – and they love and appreciate every bit of them.

When they look at you, they don’t just see your outer, physical self. They see the deepest parts of your soul. They truly see you, on a spiritual level. And you can feel that.

5. They love the people that you love.

Your people become their people. Just like they love and value you, they also hold love and appreciation for the people that you love and value.

They make an effort to build relationships with your friends and family. They value you the relationships that you hold dearest to you and aim to nurture those with you, rather than cause conflict.

If you’re with someone who tries to drive a wedge between you and a loved one, that may be a sign you’re in the wrong relationship.

6. They deeply trust you.

They trust you with the deepest, scariest parts of themselves. And they hold space for you to trust them in return.

They trust you to be honest, open, and hold them accountable.

They may ask your opinion frequently because they trust your judgement and care about your thoughts.

They know that their whole being is safe with you. And you feel the same way.

Cultivating a Soulmate Connection

Finding true love in the form of a soulmate is priceless. But it doesn’t always happen in the timing or way that we want.

Regardless of where you’re at in your relationship journey, cultivating a deep soulmate connection requires you hold space to be open, honest, and communicate freely.

If you’re unhappy with your current or past relationships, it may be the time to take a pause, reflect inward, and focus on personal self-growth and development. You never know what may come of stopping the soulmate search and turning inwards.

This Is What Your Birth Month Reveals About Your Love Life

You may have known that your birth month can give you clues and insight into a lot of things about yourself. It can tell you things about your personality, relationships and maybe even give you advice on decisions or help you figure out what your future looks like!

But did you know that it can also tell you some surprisingly accurate things about your love life?

Keep in mind this is all just for fun. Hopefully you can use this information to learn a little bit more about your personality! So what does your birth month reveal? Find out in the descriptions below!

January

You’re pretty wild and very open with your love life. Some people might even call you quite the kinky lover.

When you find someone you want, you are very determined to get their attention and you don’t get discouraged easily.

You like to keep things fresh and try out new experiences as often as you can and you have a way of persuading your partner to do things they may never have considered before.

February

You’re a passionate person with your lover, especially in the beginning when everything is just starting to get physical.

There’s an excitement there that you find thoroughly enjoyable, but once the honeymoon phase is over, sometimes you can become distant and stand-offish.

Infatuation is always the most exhilarating part of a new intimate encounter, but you need to find a way to keep the fire alive on a longterm basis.

March

Love making is an incredibly intimate and deeply personal thing for you. It can even be enlightening or spiritual in many ways.

For this reason you tend to be very particular about who you share it with, and you’re not big on casual encounters.

Those who do get the privilege of enjoying love with you are lucky, as you have a special ability to be a mind-blowing lover.

April

You’re the kind of person who gives their absolute best in bed every time, no matter what. You’re very competitive and it shows even in your intimate conquests.

Nobody walks away from love with you unsatisfied, not if you have anything to say about it!

You tend to be very dominant but you’re far from selfish, you want everyone to have the best experience possible and that’s what pleases you the most.

May

You have a tendency toward being a perfectionist and you don’t like to stray too far from the traditional setting for love.

You need to feel fully comfortable where you are and you do not like to be rushed.

As long as everything is up to your standards though, the love is definitely worth the trouble.

You need a perfect atmosphere because deep down you are a true artist of love and every experience is a masterpiece.

June

You are an intimate adventurer, always craving something interesting and different.

You love to step up the game and you’re not afraid to use whatever tools or opportunities you can.

You’re also a natural born rebel and you love to get into anything normally considered especially taboo.

As long as your partner is as open as you are, the two of you are an unstoppable force.

July

Those born in July are some of the most giving and selfless lovers.

You’ve been blessed with a consistently satisfying love life and this is in part because you are always so focused on making your partner feel good that they can’t help but want to give right back.

You are a fiercely loyal person and what you really want is a strong emotional connection with anyone you choose to sleep with.

You can enjoy casual love making sometimes but it’s just never as good for you as love making with someone you feel an affinity with.

August

Your love life can be, to put it kindly, a bit of a mess.

You seem to go back and forth between being so interested in your partner’s pleasure that you forget to enjoy yourself, and being so obsessed with getting your own that you might as well forget your partner!

You’re perfectly capable of giving (and receiving) great intimate pleasure, but you need to decide which type of lover you really want to be first. Find your focus, and your experiences will get better and better.

September

You are a generally emotional and extremely passionate person, so this will show through in your love life as well as in everything you do.

You find yourself able to preform most impressively when you have an honest and genuine connection to your partner.

You like to pick your partners carefully and you need for there to be a little romance involved before love making can happen.

October

You have quite the skill set when it comes to making love, and oh don’t you know it!

You can be a little arrogant at times about your intimate prowess but there is good reason for it, so who can really blame you?

You love foreplay and the prospect of “the chase” is one of the most exciting things for you. You are a master of the slow seduction and it really is a lost art.

Those that get to be the object of your affections are lucky indeed.

November

You just might be the kinkiest of everyone in your love life. You particularly enjoy role playing and the psychological aspect of it all.

You enjoy exploring themes of submission and dominance with your partner and you just don’t find regular love making all that appealing without a little spice.

You enjoy the feeling of belonging to one person intimately and you can also be a little possessive yourself.

December

You’re just a plain ol’ good time in bed. You know how to get creative and original with the things you do in bed and that results in being a lot of fun.

You’re good natured and not insecure, which makes your partner feel extra comfortable themselves between the sheets.

You love to bring the shy ones right out of their shells and with your winning personality and easy going attitude, you’re great at it.

Nobody wants a double chin, but a lot of us have them. Even people who aren’t overweight! If you have a double chin, I can imagine you probably don’t want to have it anymore.

The biggest reason people get them in the first place is due to weight gain. Sometimes it’s just because we get older and our skin gets a little more loose.

But it doesn’t matter how, it’s just that you have it.

Have You Seen A Feather Tattoo? Here’s What It Can Mean

You have probably seen people with feather tattoos. People get tattoos for many reasons but there are common traits in the metaphoric expressions.

You may be wondering why feathers and not a bird. Well its a difference in subtlety.

The feather makes viewers imagine birds, so a feather tattoo has multiple different connotations.

It conjures more abstract expressions than a bird. A beautiful tattoo, it can be easily adapted to many parts of the body.

Freedom

Feathers come from birds, making it synonymous with freedom. Birds can take flight and go anywhere they want, any time they want.

A person with feather tattoos is either celebrating their freedom or trying to to find their freedom. If you know someone with this tattoo, give them space to define their relationship with you.

Love them in a way that doesn’t pin them down.

Spirituality

The feather is a highly specialized tool that gives birds their freedom. People with this tattoo are usually very spiritual. This metaphor translates easily to the person’s spiritual path.

They want to take flight and elevate to new heights. If you are seeking a relationship with this person realize that their spiritual development is a priority  for them.

Courage/Strength

Birds have the ability to defy gravity and take to the skies, covering massive distances, fighting unseen winds. We have the same ability to assert ourselves and take flight mentally and spiritually.

People with feather tattoos are expressing their unique abilities and confidence in themselves.

Intelligence

Birds are often seen as creatures of wisdom and intellect. Their feathers are what gives birds their ability of flight.

Specifically isolating the physical aspect of bird’s flight, makes a metaphoric connection between the bearer and formations of wisdom and intellect.

It can symbolize a transcendence into higher planes of thought. The feather allows birds to have a 360 degree view of objects. The feather can be a reminder of ability and need to see formations from different angles and distances.

Beauty

Birds are beautiful; their sharp, piercing eyes, multi-tonal colors in their coats, and unique movements. Aside from their physical beauty, the view they have is truly unique and amazing.

The feather can be a reminder of the beauty of all things. When you look at a feather you imagine different birds and each person will visualize a different bird.

Culture

Feathers are the distinctive tools of birds. The wearer can link themselves to multiple societies with a common feather, making them great reminders of aspects of cultures.

5 Things You Should Never Do Before Bed

Most healthy adults need 7-9 hours of sleep every night.

However, some individuals can function without drowsiness after as little as 6 hours of sleep.

Still others can’t perform well unless they have slept 10 hours.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, about 40% of American adults suffer from insomnia and sleep deprivation is considered an epidemic by the CDC.

Sometimes we can’t help our sleep problems, but most of the time we can. Here’s what you should avoid before bed.

1. Don’t get yourself worked up.

Take a little time before bed to meditate and clear your mind.

Things that are bothering you can definitely keep you up at night. Don’t lose sleep overthinking things.

2. Don’t keep an irregular sleep schedule.

Having an irregular sleep schedule confuses your body, which has evolved to be comfortable waking and falling asleep at a set time every day.

A irregular sleep schedule can interrupt your sleep cycles leading to shorter, less restful sleeps.

3. Don’t exercise late in the day.

You might think that exercising before bed helps wear you out, but several studies have found that exercising too late in the day leads to a harder time sleeping.

On the flip side, working out earlier in the day has been found to help you sleep better at night.

4. Don’t drink coffee too late.

Talk about a no-brainer, right? Personally, I can’t drink coffee after 4pm and expect to get to sleep at a reasonable time.

Generally, I’d advise not drinking it after 12:00pm.

5. Don’t use electronics at night.

This is one of the most common things we do that messes up our ability to sleep. Study after study shows that looking into the bright light of a computer or smart phone screen tricks our minds into thinking it’s daytime, thus rendering us more alert and awake.

Leave at least an hour between turning off the computer screen and going to bed.

Avoid these 5 habits and you’ll be sleeping better in no time!

What Does It Mean When Your Body Suddenly Jerks While Falling Asleep?

I think we can all relate to this feeling.

You’re just slowly starting to slip off into dreamland, the world and all of the worries of your day are disappearing one by one, and then suddenly you’re falling fast or hit hard by some mysterious object and yanked right out of dreamland in the worst way.

You’ve been jerked awake in a startling and probably frightening manner and you’re left wondering what happened.

You may have wondered if this is an entirely unique phenomenon, but it turns out it isn’t.

It is in fact, very common and has even been studied by scientists who were just as curious as we are about why it happens.

Well, after research and inquiry, these scientists have even given it an official name. They call it the “hypnic jerk”.

The hypnic jerk can be perceived a little differently by everyone, each person has an individual interpretation of what it feels like to them.

The most commonly shared concept though, is that you feel like you are falling. Also commonly described is the feeling of being asphyxiated, oddly enough.

Researchers have claimed that certain external influences such as tobacco or caffeine, may have an effect on how often you are subjected to the hypnic jerk.

Of course they recommend that you abstain from caffeinated drinks within a few hours of going to sleep to try and assuage the problem.

Some medications like Adderall and Ritalin have been shown to increase the likelihood of this happening as well, along with sleep deprivation.

We see the hypnic jerk most commonly when a person falls asleep very quickly during or after experiencing an episode of physical and mental exhaustion, essentially stretching themselves just too thin, energy-wise.

It seems that when this occurs, the brain races through the stages of sleep too rapidly and briefly confuses itself into believing that the body’s systems are shutting down.

The brains’ instinctual response is to jerk you awake with a chemical cocktail that may be interpreted in a dream as something like a far fall or body slam.

This is the basic concept behind the famous “hypnic jerk” that we’re all familiar with.

Scientists Confirmed That People Are Capable of Absorbing Energy From Others

Once while flying across the country, I noticed a woman with a little booth who was laying hands over her patient in a strange way.

I knew it couldn’t be a massage because she wasn’t touching them. It turns out, it was a practice called Reiki, which is a sort of energy healing technique.

At the time, I shrugged it off as some metaphysical woo, but there actually may be something to it according to science.

It all started with a study conducted at Bielefeld University, located in Germany, that found that algae could transfer energy to other algae.

It got researchers at the university wondering if this was something relegated to plants or if animals, even humans, could transfer energy to other humans.

“This is exactly why there are certain people who feel uncomfortable in specific group settings where there is a mix of energy and emotions,” says Dr. Olivia Bader-Lee, a psychologist and energy healer.

“When energy studies become more advanced in the coming years, we will eventually see this translated to human beings as well.”

“The human organism is very much like a plant, it draws needed energy to feed emotional states and this can essentially energize cells or cause increases in cortisol and catabolize cells depending on the emotional trigger.”

There’s still quite a bit about this topic to study before anything firmly conclusive can be established, but it certainly is fascinating.

Since the dawn of mankind, we’ve worked tirelessly to understand our environment, from the bottoms of the oceans to the deepest realms of space.

As advanced as we’ve become, there’s still a lot about nature, and about ourselves, that we don’t fully understand.

I’m sure the more we research these phenomena, the more we’ll be blown away by our potential.

5 Important Warning Signs Of An Imminent Stroke

Thinking about strokes can be scary. The fact that a stroke really doesn’t discriminate against age, sex, race or anything else makes it something that everyone worries about.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that there are warning signs or symptoms that can happen prior to the actual stroke, which you can always be on the lookout for.

What happens during a stroke is one of two things. Either one of the blood vessels in your brain has started to bleed and become “hemorrhagic”, or it has become blocked and is what they call “ischemic”.

Both of these situations are serious and can cause permanent brain damage the longer they’re left untreated, they may even result in death in the worst cases.

The best way to avoid a stroke is to keep yourself in the best general condition possible. Be sure to eat well, exercise regularly, and get plenty of good sleep as often as you can.

Otherwise, you can start by educating yourself on what a stroke looks/feels like and how to know when one may be coming on. These 5 warning signs can clue you in before things get dangerous.

1. Sudden migraine or excruciating headache.

If you suffer from severely painful migraines regularly or chronically, this probably won’t apply to you and you should be seeing a neurologist anyway to determine the cause.

If you rarely have headaches at all and suddenly you find yourself in extreme pain, sensitive to lights and sounds and dizzy, this could be a sign of stroke.

Whether you have a bleed or a blockage, the blood pressure in your brain is going haywire, which causes the pain and all that which accompanies it.

2. Inability to focus or comprehend.

This happens when certain parts of your brain which normally control language or logical thought are deprived of oxygen.

You might suddenly be unable to understand what is being said to you, despite being spoken to in your native language, or you might struggle for minutes to string together a small sentence that should take seconds to spit out.

3. Dizziness or numbness in one side.

If you become very dizzy, feeling like the Earth is tilting or shifting underneath your feet while you’re actually standing on solid flat ground, this could be a sign of stroke.

This feeling may be combined with a numbness or loss of control of muscles in one side of your face or body. This is because the muscles are being deprived of oxygenated blood.

4. Double or blurred vision.

Again, if this is happening only on one side, the likelihood that it is a stroke is much higher than it would be otherwise.

If you start to see double, this can mean that one eye is trying and failing to focus, while the other remains unchanged. Blurred vision can also be a sign of blood loss or blockage in the brain.

5. Sudden complete exhaustion.

We all feel tired at times, but if you find yourself feeling energetic or even at a perfectly normal level of alertness, and then suddenly out of nowhere, it’s as if you’re swimming through wet cement mix, this may be a sign of stroke.

When your brain is not receiving the blood and oxygen it needs, it begins to shut down and malfunction. This results in a feeling of weakness and serious fatigue that will not go away.

If you experience this feeling coupled or matched with any of the other symptoms, you should tell someone what is happening right away and get to a hospital as quickly as you can.

The key to surviving a stroke with a good chance for full recovery is all in the timing.

You’ve got to keep a watchful eye out for signs, the faster you figure out what’s going on and get yourself to treatment, the better your odds will be.

Our best friends are the people we enjoy spending time with the most.  We don’t so much plan on hanging out with them as we already know that we will because we have such a great time together.

If your partner is the person who entertains you more than anyone else, then your partner is also your best friend.

3. You prefer it when your partner is around

We all spend more time with our partners than with friends.  But, when you actually prefer to be with your partner more than anyone else, it’s a good sign that this person isn’t just your partner and lover, but also your best friend.

You may have no problem hanging out without him or her, but in the back of your mind, you know that you’d have more fun if your partner is there, too.

4. The two of you have inside jokes

You can look at each other and know exactly what the other is thinking.  You both burst out laughing at things that no one else understands.

If you have created phrases and words that no one else is privy to, then you’ve found yourself a lover and best friend.

5. You don’t fight often, and when you do, neither of you take it to heart

Friends argue. Best friends argue and never take it personally.  They don’t get mad over the little things and are able to rationally discuss disagreements.

So many relationships fail because, as a couple, they aren’t able to accomplish this.

6. You are comfortable doing anything together – even if it’s nothing

You love doing things together, but don’t always need to be doing something in order to enjoy each other’s company.  You’re fine with simply “chilling.”

You can go for walks. Talk. Eat. Drink. Or just sit quietly together reading, relaxing or watching TV.

7. You laugh and smile more with your partner than with anyone else.

If your partner makes you happier than any other person in your life, then he or she may very well be your best friend.  It’s really all about love – not just the romantic kind.

If you love your partner in all the ways a person could possible love another person, then your partner is just as much your best friend as he or she is your lover.

To feel this kind of love is to experience true love – the deepest and purest of all.
