These are truths you hear about and experience every day. Truths that you don’t want to believe even when they’re right in front of your face; certain truths that nobody likes or wants to think about. Underneath the hustle and bustle of every day life, everyone is constantly struggling with these concepts even though most people act like they don’t exist. Well they do; here are the five…
1. Life is short
How often have we all heard this phrase? We all know deep down that nobody lives forever and our time here on earth will come to an end.
Yet, we are still surprised when someone we know or loves dies.
There is something worse than death – not living the life you want to live. You only live this life once. So, make the most of it!
2. Worrying is useless
Worrying is like complaining. It doesn’t change a thing. But, we feel like we’ve got to do it because if we don’t worry about something, it seems like we’re not taking life seriously.
But, believe me, worrying is a waste of time and energy. It will only give you worry lines and ulcers.
3. Everyone fails at something
If you decide not to pursue your dream because you’re afraid of failure, then you’ve failed.
Failure is inevitable at some point in our lives. The true failure comes when you don’t do something because you’re afraid to fail. Just go for it! If you fail, learn the lesson and move on.
4. There is little that you truly need
Air, water, food, shelter. That’s it. That’s all you TRULY need to survive. But, some people turn things they simply want into things they feel are necessary.
If you have public transportation, you don’t need a car. You don’t need an expensive RV to go camping. You don’t need a huge wardrobe to look nice.
Don’t add stress to your life by living beyond your means to have things you want. You can live a perfectly happy life without the newest i-Phone or fanciest car.
5. Change is inevitable
The only thing consistent in life is change. What you have today can be gone tomorrow. Life moves rapidly and can go from being nice and calm to chaotic in an instant.
Any decision we make today has the possibility of changing everything in our future. However good or bad your situation is right now, it can change.
If your life is good, enjoy it rather than go looking for something better. Happiness will never come to the person who doesn’t appreciate what they have.
If life isn’t good, well, you’re the only one who can change that.
