It’s never easy saying goodbye to someone we love, but we all go through it many times over.

Life is an amazing thing but at the same time, it is incredibly tragic.

Still, while the bodies of the ones we hold dear may be long gone, their spirits are still present in our lives.

Sometimes they play pranks on us. Sometimes they watch over us.

Other times, they can use their foresight to help us in our lives. Here’s what to watch for.

1. Animals acting strangely.

Animals are often more sensitive to the things happening in our world than we are, and this goes for observing the presence of spirits too.

I once lived in a house with the spirit of a young girl occupying it, and she bugged my dog like you’d expect a rambunctious 4-year-old to.

Watch for your cats and dogs looking at things moving about that aren’t there.

2. Poltergeist activity.

A poltergeist, which is a German word meaning “pounding ghost,” are often perceived as troublesome, if annoying spirits.

They’re thought to be responsible for bumps, things getting moved, knocking on doors, and other ghostly activity. But this unknown entity may actually be your dead loved one sending you a message. Look for potential significance in the spirit’s activity.

3. Electronics acting up.

Little is known about what makes up a soul or a spirit. We figure it’s some kind of energy, but you can’t really examine a spirit.

You can’t capture a little bit of a spirit and put it under a microscope, so it’s difficult to test any kind of hypothesis.

What we do know is that something about them interrupts the functionality of our electronics. Watch again for significance in how they malfunction.

If your grandpa’s old radio, for example, turns on and off by itself, it could mean that grandpa is trying to get your attention.

4. Vivid dreams.

In terms of very direct messages, spirits have no better way to get in touch with us than in our dreams.

For whatever reason, while asleep, the barrier between the spirit world and our consciousness is at its thinnest.

Spirits are able to implant thoughts and questions more directly through your dreams. Dreams involving spirits will be incredibly vivid.

Keep a journal by your bed to write down any significant dreams you might have.

5. Extrasensory perception.

ESP is a pretty wide umbrella in terms of definition. It can mean a bunch of different things. But in this case, it’s as if the spirits in our lives put ideas in our heads before we can have them.

Thoughts, questions, and even foresight can enter our minds with little explanation.

Have you been visited by a spirit before?
